tesla model s p85dYou might not have to like an all electric car, but this does not mean that it is not an engineering feat to be pooh poohed at. The 2015 Tesla Model S P85D is said to be a real killer on the road with the kind of mad acceleration capability, and it even comes with a “Ludicrous” mode to boot, and you can be sure that it is going to be the king of the electric car hill when it is released, assuming nothing else trumps it before that, of course. Well, here is another record which the Tesla Model S P85D has achieved – it is officially the highest-rated vehicle ever tested by Consumer Reports.

Just how good is it? Well, it managed to break the magazine’s rating system, picking up a whopping 103 points on a 100-point scale. Don’t ask us how that happened, but it did. There were reviewers that claimed the sedan was “a glimpse into the future of the auto industry”, resulting in them re-evaluating their criteria so that this fully electric ride will be able to hit a maximum score – and then some.

After all, how do you argue with a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds, being an electric car on top of it? It also has an efficiency rating of 87 mpge, making it better than the regular 85-kWh model. Of course, the $128,000 price tag is not going to make it available to everyone, so if you are going to drive one of these, you can be sure that you have a pretty healthy bank balance.
