ASUS ZenPad 8.0

Asus has finally unveiled a premium Android tablet; the new device is an upgraded version of ZenPad tablet, named as ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA). The tablet comes with a 7.9-inch display with a QXGA 2048×1536 pixels resolution, and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM.

To recap, Asus had announced the ZenPad line-up in June, and given the specs and design, the ZenPad S 8.0 will be reigning at the top. The tablet was spotted on Best Buy last month, which was a lower end version of the ZenPad S 8.0 with lower RAM and processor. The ZenPad S 8.0 Z580CA features 64GB of internal storage, which is highest till now on Android tablets, and is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. It sports an 8 megapixel of a primary camera along with a 5-megapixel of a front-facing camera.

In terms of design, the tablet looks pretty premium and trendy, with its diamond hairline design on the rear and metallic finish. The tablet is 6.6mm thick and weighs just 298 grams, which in turn makes it very much handy. The device is also compatible with Asus’ Z Stylus, which is a pressure sensitive stylus just like the one on Samsung’s Galaxy Note. ZenPad S 8.0 will be available at a price of $299 from September through Asus’ online store, B&H Photo Video, Newegg, Amazon, and Tiger Direct.
