Harmonix Music Systems and Mad Catz Interactive have just announced a first time achievement in Rock Band history – that there will be a Van Halen track which will be added to the rockin’ Rock Band 4 soundtrack. In other words, fans can play as well as perform the band’s legendary #1 hit “Panama” when the title launches, and there will be additional music from the band that will be released later on which avid gamers can download even after the launch.

If you need to know, Van Halen released remastered versions of their first half dozen albums recently, in addition to that of a newly recorded live album which is known as Tokyo Dome Live In Concert. This particular band is touring across various cities at the moment in North America, and just to get an idea of their pedigree, they own more No. 1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart compared to any other artist, having been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 8 years ago.

Other tunes in Rock Band 4 include music by Aerosmith, Avenged Sevenfold, The Black Keys, Elvis Presley, Fall Out Boy, Foo Fighters, Jack White, Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars, St. Vincent, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Who, among others.
