Xiaomi-Millet-Edge-3When Samsung launched the Galaxy Note Edge last year, it was done as an experiment to gauge customer interest. Turns out it was relatively well-received, so much so that Samsung came back this year with two curved edge devices in the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 Edge+. However it looks like Xiaomi wants in on the fun as well.

According to rumors out of China, it seems that Xiaomi is working on a similar kind of device known as the Xiaomi Mi Edge. Whether or not the rumors are true remains to be seen, but according to the rumored specs, the handset will be pretty powerful. It will feature a 5.2-inch QHD display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor under the hood.

There will also be 4GB of RAM accompanying the phone, a fingerprint scanner, and is expected to be priced at a very affordable $391, or at least much more affordable than the Galaxy S6 Edge or the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Like we said there has been no official announcement yet so it’s best taken with a grain of salt for now.

In the meantime there is speculation that LG could be following suit as well. Earlier this month we had heard how the company had filed for a trademark for the “Edge” name suggesting that they might launch something similar, but to date we have yet to see anything.
