xiaomi logoThere has been whispers going around that the folks over at Xiaomi will be rolling out their very own chipsets that will see action in their own smartphones and tablets of the future, and it seems that those rumors happen to have some credence. In fact, the latest whispers to go around the grapevine would be plans by Xiaomi to roll out not one, but two different SoCs that are set to roll out some time next year. The use of its own low-end chipset would allow Xiaomi to churn out even more affordable Redmi branded handsets, despite their relatively low price at the moment.

This particular move might be able to allow Xiaomi to compete with a slew of rivals from China, where the entry level market looks set to get even more competitive. As for its plans next year to roll out another chipset, that will target the mid-range smartphone market, with the alleged SoC being an octa-core CPU. The same rumor source also claims that Xiaomi’s high-end smartphones will utilize the tried and tested Snapdragon chipsets from Qualcomm, but until next year arrives, will won’t have a reliable gauge to fall back upon. Only time will be able to tell on our behalf.
