zenfone-2-9Times are hard around the world, no doubt about it. Hence, everyone, ranging from individuals to large corporations, are looking for ways to actually run things more efficiently in the most cost effective manner. Having said that, ASUS’ ZenFone 2, which was first announced at CES earlier this year, also saw a premium version with 128GB of internal memory and 4GB RAM introduced in June. This time around, it looks like ASUS will be scaling back on things, with the ZenFone 2 retailing for $229 a pop with 4GB RAM.

This would mean having double the amount of RAM compared to the base model that costs $199 while sporting 16GB of internal memory, which means the additional $30 forked out would have gone a reasonably long way. Previously, the only way to obtain 4GB of RAM in the ZenFone 2 would be to stump out $299, where that came with 64GB of internal memory.

Other hardware specifications such as the Intel Atom processor, a 5.5” Full HD display, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE connectivity, dual SIM card slots, a microSDXC memory card reader, a 13MP shooter at the back, and a 5-megapixel front camera will remain the same. Will you be picking up this handset by the time it is made available to the masses?
