bloodhound-recordThe Bloodhound Supersonic Car (Bloodhound SSC for short) is one mean machine, and there are no qualms about that for sure. After all, this is a ride that has been tested successfully, and if you are interested, you can experience the cockpit for yourself. Right now, the Bloodhound Supersonic Car is at Canary Wharf in east London, where it is set to make its world debut soon. Should everything work according to plan, the Bloodhound SSC with its extraordinary aerodynamic design will see it pass the 1,000 mph mark, breaking the land speed record along the way.

It is definitely not meant for regular transportation use for sure, as it measures 13.5 meters in length and has a 2 meter high tail fin that is located at the end for added stability, especially handy when it zooms by at insanely high speeds. Underneath the hood lies a Rolls-Royce EJ200 jet engine, not to mention a supercharged Jaguar V8 engine which will powera pump for the Nammo rocket motor that was pieced together by the Royal Space Agency. Formula 1 and aerospace experts were the ones behind the Bloodhound, where the British Royal Air Force and Army engineers also came on board.

It is set to hit from zero to a 1,000 miles an hour in 55 seconds, which means the measured mile is covered in a mere 3.6 seconds. Crazy stuff indeed!
