Bungie has confirmed today that all daily and weekly events in Destiny will be closed starting September 8th to September 14th. The confirmation was made on the official Bungie blog, no daily or weekly events which include Nightfall, Daily Heroic Story, Heroic Strike events, will be available for the week of September 8th and September 14th. The main reasons for this event delay is to keep things under control has Destiny 2.0.0 update is finally released.

Update 2.0.0 for Destiny is an important one because it brings a plethora of new content for The Taken King expansion. It even brings updates for the core Destiny game so all players get something new regardless of whether or not they purchased the expansion pack.

All Destiny players will be able to try out The Taken King’s crucible content with The Rift map throughout this period, once it’s up though only those who purchased The Taken King expansion will be allowed to try out the crucible content.

Moreover the experience system will be changed for all players, it will remove the need for armor with Light ratings and will instead be based entirely on experience gleaned from PvP and PvE content.

It will be business as usual following September 14th when all of the aforementioned events will be playable once again.
