For the first time this year CBS is going to provide a live stream of two upcoming regular season NFL games for free without requiring people to have a subscription, pay a cable provider or go through any kind of authentication process before they can access the live stream. The live stream will be provided for free and will be open to everybody who wants to watch those two regular season NFL games.

This is going to extend CBS’s online coverage of the NFL, it has already signed deals to live stream the Super Bowl and four playoff games on its website as well as through its apps on devices like the Xbox One, Apple TV and Chromecast.

It’s going to provide the free live stream for the game that takes place on October 4th between the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins, and on November 26th when the Carolina Panthers take on the Dallas Cowboys.

CBS isn’t the only company that’s going to offer free live streams of regular season NFL games, Yahoo will provide a free stream for the October 25th game between Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to a report Yahoo may have paid as much as $20 million to secure these rights, no word on what the deal is costing CBS.
