Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-04

We reported last week that Samsung might be gearing up to launch the Galaxy Note 5 in India soon and that’s precisely what has happened today, in an event that took place in New Delhi Samsung formally launched the Galaxy Note 5 in India. It joins the rather exclusive list of countries that are playing host to this handset, the company isn’t launch the Galaxy Note 5 in many major markets, Europe isn’t likely to get the device this year.

Possibility of a Galaxy Note 5 launch in India first popped up on the radar a couple of weeks back when a firmware file was discovered, it was meant for the Indian variant of the Galaxy Note 5, why would Samsung be working on the firmware if it had no intention of launching the handset in the country?

Samsung confirmed today that the Galaxy Note 5 is coming to India with the 32GB and 64GB models costing Rs. 53,900 ($840) and Rs. 59,000 ($935) respectively, they will be available for purchase starting September 20th in gold, silver and black colors. All customers who pre-order the device before September 19th will receive a free wireless charging dock.

The company also mentioned during the event today that it’s now manufacturing this high-end handset in the country, all Galaxy Note 5 models being sold in India have actually been manufactured inside the country.
