samsung luckyThere is a bit of back and forth right now with regards to the Samsung Galaxy S7. Earlier today some alleged specs of the handset was leaked, and now thanks to an AnTuTu benchmark, more details have been revealed, although in some ways it does contradict the previous rumors a bit.

For starters the benchmarks have “confirmed” the use of the Snapdragon 820, which at the moment is rumored to be in testing by Samsung. This is versus our earlier report which suggested that Samsung could use an Exynos 8890 chipset. However it is rather early in terms of development, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung was testing both chipsets before making a decision.

The benchmarks also reveals a 5.7-inch display. This contradicts earlier rumors that suggested that the Galaxy S7 would be available in both 5.2-inch and 5.8-inch options. Once again we should note that it is rather early for Galaxy S7 rumors, and that benchmarks can be faked so we’ll try not to read too much into it for now.

It has also been revealed that there will be 4GB of RAM, which is a lot even by today’s standards, and a 16MP rear-facing camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. The previous report had suggested at 20MP ISOCELL rear-facing camera. In any case take it all with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we will start seeing less contradicting reports in the coming months leading to the phone’s official reveal.
