nexus-6p-goldOne of the two Nexus handsets which were announced by Google earlier today was manufactured by Huawei, and that would be the larger sized Nexus 6P which comes in a surprisingly svelte form factor. Well, we do know that the Nexus 6P will be available to pre-order starting today in the US, UK, Ireland, and Japan, which is similar to that of the Nexus 5X that hails from LG. Leaked images in the past point to a quartet of colors for the Nexus 6P, but in today’s presentation, Google mentioned only three colors – black, silver, and white. Whatever happened to gold? It might actually be available in Japan only at the moment, since this particular shade can be found only on the Google Store Japan webpage.

Over on the Google Store Japan webpage, it is known as the Nexus 6P Special Edition, and I suppose the reason for it being Special Edition would be the fact that it carries a gold paint job. Other than that, the rest of the hardware specifications should be more or less the same as those found on the black, white and silver shades.

It remains to be seen if the gold Nexus 6P Special Edition will be made available outside of Japan or not, but hopefully more details will emerge in due time.
