htc-logo-sketchIf the speculation is right, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to be released on the 5th of October. However this is Google’s release meaning that it will make its way onto Nexus devices first before they are rolled out to other OEMs, although even then it would also have to depend on when the carriers approve the updates as well.

That being said if you’re a HTC owner and you’re wondering if your device is eligible for the update, wonder no more. Thanks to a post by @LlabTooFeR, a list of HTC devices that are rumored to get the update has been released. We can’t verify these claims yet but given @LlabTooFeR’s track record, there is a good chance he might be right.

According to the list, the devices that are supposed to get the update include the Desire EYE,  816, 820, 826, HTC One M8, M8s, M8 EYE, E8, HTC One M9, M9+, ME, E9, E9+, and the Butterfly 2, 3. Like we said we can’t verify this list, but for the most part the devices mentioned are from HTC’s 2015 releases and some are flagship handsets, so we guess it is possible.

Either way we will be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding the release and availability of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so be sure to check back with us in the coming days/weeks for more details!
