iPad-Air-2According to a rumor ahead of Apple’s event last week, it was suggested that there might not be an iPad Air 3 this year. Turns out the rumors were right as during the event, Apple announced an updated iPad mini along with the brand new iPad Pro. However according to new rumors, it has been suggested that the iPad Air 3 might launch this year after all.

According to the rumors, word has it that Apple has not forgotten about the iPad Air 3. It claims that Apple could be launching the device later this year, or at the latest by early next year. However we have to say that this is a bit odd. It seems unlikely Apple will hold an event just for a single iPad, so if it does launch, it might simply show up on Apple’s website.

Alternatively, Apple could announce the device in the early part of 2016 alongside any potential MacBook/iMac announcements, which once again would seem a bit out of place. No word on the specs of the tablet for now, but chances are it will sport similar hardware as the recently refreshed tablets.

This includes an A9X processor, possible 2-4GB of RAM, 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage options, an 8MP iSight camera, and a 2.1MP FaceTime camera. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us later for the details.
