ipad_pro_4At the moment thanks to the use of Bluetooth, Apple’s wireless keyboards for the Mac are actually compatible with the iPad and the iPhone. However they weren’t exactly designed to be mobile, but that could change. A report from 9to5Mac has suggested that a new keyboard accessory designed for the iPad is on its way.

This keyboard accessory in particular could even be designed for the rumored iPad Pro in mind, which according to the rumors is pegged for a 9th of September announcement. It is unclear if we could end up with some kind of Microsoft Surface-like keyboard accessory, or maybe some kind of keyboard folio, but either way it will be interesting to see what Apple has up their sleeves.

The report goes on to add that there will also be Smart Covers and Smart Cases for the iPad Pro, so if you’re not a fan of a keyboard case, then hopefully the Smart Covers/Smart Cases will be a worthy official alternative. Unfortunately no word on pricing on how much this rumored keyboard accessory would cost.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you’re hoping to learn more about the iPad Pro, do check back with us next week for the details, if there are any to be had.
