Apple has never advertised its iPhones as being waterproof or water-resistant. That has not changed with the newly launched iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but if you are curious to see if your phone will be able to survive a short dunk underwater, you might be pleased to know that it will, at least according to a recent video on YouTube.

According to the video uploaded by YouTuber Zach Straley, it shows both the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus submerged underwater. Amazingly enough despite Apple’s iPhones typically thought of as being fragile and delicate, both devices managed to keep running and working for an hour while it was submerged, which we have to admit is rather impressive.

When the phones were taken out, it was discovered that there were no issues with them. There were no water spots under the display, the screen continued to function as per normal, and according to Straley, he claims that the ports like the headphone jack and the Lightning port continued to function just fine after they had been dried out.

Now we don’t suggest you take your iPhones into the pool with you for a swim as this is definitely not an advertised feature. Chances are water damage will still void your warranty, but at the very least should your iPhone get wet, this video seems to suggest that it should continue to work just fine, hopefully.
