The way Apple has been going about their business, it would seem that they are trying to make every iPhone iteration thinner than its predecessors. Usually this is shown off in every other iPhone generation, with the “S” versions being more or less identical in specs, but that could change with the iPhone 6s.
We have heard the rumors that the device could be thicker and now thanks to the folks at MacRumors, they have managed to get their hands on photos that seems to prove just that. As you can see in the image above, a digital measuring tool was used to measure a supposed fully assembled iPhone 6s.
Based on the readings, it shows that it measure 7.08mm which is close to 0.2mm thicker than its predecessor, which does coincide with what we have been hearing. This is also said to apply to the iPhone 6s Plus which will now be 7.3mm up from 7.1mm from its predecessor. Interestingly enough the height and width of the phones have been increased as well.
Prior to this, the iPhone 6 measured 138.1mm tall and 67.0mm wide, but the new measures suggests marginal increases to 138.19mm in length and 67.68mm in width. At this moment it is unclear if these changes in dimensions will affect compatibility with existing cases, but safe to say if your case is particularly snug, you might have a hard time reusing it.
