iPhone-6-review-2

A graduate student at California State University, Fresno had a near miss with death when his iPhone stopped a bullet during a mugging earlier this week, according to Fresno police. The student was returning to his apartment at night when the assailant went for his laptop bag and fired a shot in the process, fortunately for the student the bullet angled off the iPhone in his pocket.

According to the report the bullet ended up shattering the iPhone’s display but it kept the victim safe from any physical harm, this is what the victim’s roommate told CBS Fresno.

Such an incident is bound to rattle anyone and it’s no surprise that the victim left town the following morning while the assailant is still at large, there has been no word from the police as yet regarding progress in this case.

This is certainly not the first time that a smartphone has saved its owner’s life. Just last year a man cheated death when a shot was fired during a fight in China, the bullet was deflected by the Samsung Galaxy Mega handset in his shirt pocket.

Obviously this doesn’t mean that your phone is always going to protect you, there might be countless different factors that contribute to such an incident, but otherwise it’s best to always be on guard yourself.
