nexus-6-review-3According to a report from last week, it was suggested that come 29th of September, Google will be launching the LG Nexus 5X. While it was not mentioned if the Huawei Nexus would be announced as well, chances are we could be looking at a simultaneous launch. However the question is when will the phones be available for purchase?

Assuming the 29th of September date is to be believed, there have been new reports to suggest that pre-orders of the Nexus handsets will begin on the 13th of October 2015. This is according to a report from the folks at TalkAndroid who claims to have been tipped off by a source. However it should be taken with a grain of salt for now since Google has yet to officially announce anything.

However based on Google’s past behavior with the release of their Nexus phones, it usually takes place between 1-3 weeks of its announcement. This means if the 29th of September date is accurate, then the 13th of October pre-order sort of makes sense. The report claims that this will apply to both the LG and Huawei-made Nexus handsets.

For those who haven’t been keeping up, basically LG and Huawei have been tapped to make the Nexus handsets this year. From what we can tell, both phones will feature fingerprint scanners on the back. However the Huawei Nexus is rumored to be bigger with a 5.7-inch display, while LG is opting for a slightly more manageable 5.2-inch screen.
