Samsung and LG’s 4K OLED TVs have been relatively successful and their performance appears to have compelled Panasonic to come out with one of its own. The company today unveiled a new 65 inch 4K OLED TV as part of its IFA 2015 announcements, the big-screen TV comes almost two years after the company decided that it would no longer make its much appreciated plasma televisions.

One can get into the never-ending debate of whether one is better than the other, OLED TVs have their advantages and so do plasma TVs, even though the latter technology isn’t being actively used by major television manufacturers.

Panasonic’s new TV carries model number TX-65CZ950, it’s a 65 inch curved screen that has been given a seal of approval by Hollywood, the company capitalized on the close links that it has formed with Hollywood through its LA-based laboratory to develop this 4K OLED TV.

It comes with move-friendly processing features such as support for HDR technology, the picture quality has been certified by THX which makes it the first 4K OLED TV to actually have this certification.

Panasonic hasn’t revealed an expected price point for the TX-65CZ950, it may cost a pretty penny considering the TV’s back is upholstered in Alcantara, but we won’t know that for sure until there’s an official figure.
