paypal-meLet’s say you’re out with your friends and you want to pay for dinner using your credit card, and everyone will just pay you back. There are many ways to go about this, one of which is to get friends to give you actual cash. Another way is to do a bank transfer, or in PayPal’s case, they have decided to launch PayPal.me that will supposedly make it even easier.

So what so different about PayPal.me compared to the regular PayPal? Apparently the idea behind it is to go back to PayPal’s roots where they were a service that allowed users to send money to each other easily, as opposed to acting like a “bank”, which some feel that way about the service today.

It will allow users to create a customized PayPal.me URL so you can send the link to your friends, post it on social media, so that anyone can send money to you easily. If you’re organizing a holiday you can make the purchases first, create a PayPal.me URL, and have your friends pay you back.

It can also be a good way for you to help raise money for charitable causes by giving users a website to donate money to. At the moment the service is available on iOS and Android devices, the web, and also in countries like Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK and US.
