Are you in the market for a new TV? If you are, there are plenty of options out there today. However at IFA 2015, Philips has taken the wraps off a unique TV in the form of the Ambilux. This is a TV with a 4K resolution, which by itself is more or less to be expected from modern TVs these days.

However what makes the Ambilux so unique is the fact that it comes with pico projectors embedded into the back. Now we know you’re probably a little confused by the use of pico projectors, but they do serve a purpose. The idea, which you can see for yourself in the video above, is to create a more immersive experience.

How it works is that the pico projectors on the back will project images on what you’re watching onto the wall behind it. This will help fill up the room with more colors and images, like we said, helping to create an immersive viewing experience. The TV itself will be powered by Android TV, so you will have access to apps and other TV-centric offerings.

Unfortunately pricing and availability was not specified, but we expect that it will not come cheap. It will however, be released in the later part of the year in Russia, Germany, and other parts of Europe.
