nexus 6p coverOne of the features of the Nexus 6P’s camera is that it has laser autofocus, similar to other handsets we have seen in the past. What this does is that it helps lock onto the subject much faster, thus providing better focus and capture speeds. Now if you think that the handset is a bit too precious to be left without a cover, here’s something you should consider.

According to reports, it seems that there are some third-party Nexus 6P covers that are blocking the laser autofocus feature of the phone. While camera and flash cutouts on cases aren’t new and are expected, we guess there have been some manufacturers who were a little too eager to get their products out that their forgot/ignored the laser autofocus portion.

For example in the case you see above, the case clearly covers the autofocus section of the camera which is located to the right of the flash. Like we said we’re not sure if they forgot to take it into consideration or just ignored it, but if you’re shopping about for cases for the phone, that is something you will want to pay attention to.

That being said, Google has a list of cases that they are selling on the Google Play Store that appears to comply with the design and autofocus, so if you are looking for a Nexus 6P case, then checking out Google’s offerings for now might be a better idea.
