StarCraft-2-Legacy-of-the-Void-TassadarIf you’re looking forward to some upcoming video games that have yet to be launched, there is a slight chance it might be delayed. Why is this? It is because it seems that video game voice actors are apparently considering going on strike. This is according to the SAG-AFTRA union which is mulling a strike in order to get better conditions for its members.

To be specific, it seems that the union wants better and more enshrined contracts. For example they are looking for better protection and pay when it comes to jobs with demanding voice acting roles, like repeated loud screams. They also want clearer distinction between voice and motion actors, since it would be unfair if voice actors were told to do motion acting too but get paid the same rate anyway.

They are also looking into performance bonuses in the event that a game does well. A vote is expected to be taken next month and if 75% of its members agree, then all union members who are working on video games will be going on strike until their demands are met. So far there have been several notable voice actors who have come forward in support of this.

This includes Dave Fennoy whom some of you guys might have noticed from games such as Batman: Arkham Knight, The Walking Dead, StarCraft 2, World of Warcraft, and more. There is also Steven Ogg who voices Trevor from Grand Theft Auto V, and Tara Strong who voiced Harley Quinn in some Batman titles.
