It looks like the Xbox 360 is soon going to receive a new feature that’s going to allow you to send money to friends, so if you’re a betting man or woman who likes to wager while they’re gaming, this feature will essentially make it much easier to settle those bets, but I’m sure there are other reasons for bringing this feature over to Xbox 360.

Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra revealed through Twitter that developing is ongoing on a feature which will enable Xbox 360 users to gift money to their friends through the console itself.

Ybarra didn’t reveal precisely when this feature is going to be enabled but did mention in the tweet that it’s going to be turned on “soon,” he didn’t confirm if this feature will remain limited to the Xbox 360 or if Microsoft has any plans of bringing it over to Xbox One as well.

It’s also possible that this feature might only be available to Xbox 360 users in the United States initially with support only for U.S. Dollar, it remains to be seen if the company decides to add support for other markets and currencies.

This feature will certainly eliminate the need to purchase prepaid Xbox codes for a friend, but it’s yet to be detailed whether recipients will be allowed to transfer the money into their linked bank accounts or whether they’ll only be allowed to spend it within the Xbox ecosystem.
