Sony-Xperia-Z5-family_1We have been hearing rumors about the Sony Xperia Z5 for a while now and come IFA 2015, we expect that Sony will be taking the wraps off the device, thanks to the various teasers Sony has posted on Twitter. That being said, new photos of the handsets have surfaced thanks to Dutch website nu.nl (via Xperia Blog).

These photos appears to be part of a hands-on series of the device and as you can tell, there are a trio of devices in the photos. According to the rumors, the Sony Xperia Z5 will actually be a family of three different handsets. There will be the regular Sony Xperia Z5, the smaller Xperia Z5 Compact, and the larger and more powerful Xperia Z5 Premium (which in the past has gone by the name “Plus”).

These photos are easily the clearest photos we’ve seen of the device to date. For the most part Sony appears to be sticking to the same design language, except that it has been refined further. Gone is that weird bump that doubled as the power button, instead Sony has opted for a flushed button. It also appears that the Premium version of the Xperia Z5 is made from a different material.

Its glossy back seems to suggest we could be looking at the use of glass, or at least a different color as it’s hard to tell from the photos, but they all look pretty good. In any case Sony has promised an announcement for the 2nd of September which is later today, so check back with us later today for the details.
