galaxy-a5-sequel-benchSamsung is not a company that rests on their laurels, that is for sure, which is why it does not come across as any surprise at all to see that there is a possible new sequel to the Samsung Galaxy A5 (which just picked up the Lollipop update in June, mind you) in the form of a GFXBench benchmark test, which in turn, has also revealed its fair share of hardware specifications along the way. Why do we think it is the Galaxy A5 sequel? The model number does play a very important role, where the benchmarked SM-A510 does have a progression compared to the SM-A500 for the Galaxy A5.

Based on the benchmark itself, we do know that this upcoming handset will arrive with a 5.2” display that does Full HD images, powered by an octa-core 1.6GHz CPU alongside the Mali-T720 GPU, is accompanied by 2GB of RAM within, 16GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, a 13MP shooter behind and a front-facing 5MP shooter.

As to when this particular smartphone will hit the market, it is really anyone’s guess at best. All that we can do now is sit tight and wait for an official announcement on what is going to come, and then see just which carriers would pick up the device.
