apple_tv_amazonEarlier this month it was rumored that Amazon was getting ready to pull Apple TV listings from its website. Unfortunately if you were hoping to get your hands on an Apple TV via Amazon, it looks like those rumors were true as Apple TV listings can no longer be found on Amazon’s website.

As you can see in the screenshot above, trying to look for Apple TV on Amazon actually yields results for Amazon’s own products. There are some Apple TV-related products such as accessories but as for the actual hardware itself, it is no longer in sight. So why the removal? We suppose if it isn’t obvious already, it is because Amazon has similar products of their own like the Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.

Amazon had also apparently notified third-party retailers about their plans to remove Apple’s products because apparently it was to avoid customer confusion. They also claimed that media devices like Apple TV don’t interact well with Prime Video, or so they claim. Either way it looks like if you did want an Apple TV, you will probably need to go to an Apple store for it.

In the meantime we suppose this doesn’t really come as a surprise that Amazon’s decision to delist Apple TV from their store is around the same time that the new Apple TV is going on sale.
