aone-marhsmallowBetter late than never, or so the saying goes. Well, it seems that the long awaited rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates when it comes to the Nexus range of devices has kicked off slowly, albeit surely in the Over The Air (OTA) manner as of yesterday. While most of these Nexus devices happen to be high end models in their own right at the moment or in the past, this does not mean that Google has neglected the other handsets in their stable. Apparently, Google too, has plans for their Android One devices, and while nothing official has been announced just yet, the rollout to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has begun – nice!

This particular Android 6.0 Marshmallow update rollout will cater for first-generation Android One handsets in the mould of the Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Spice Dream Uno as at press time, where such update notifications have now been spotted across India, the world’s second largest population. If you happen to rock to an Android One device in India and have yet to pick up the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, please be patient.

It does look as though the initial update for the first Android One handsets weigh in approximately 330MB in size, which ain’t really too taxing on your data plan, although we would definitely recommend sticking to a Wi-Fi connection instead where updates are concerned.
