It has been rumored for months that Apple is speaking to all of the biggest networks in the country, hoping to convince them to jump onboard its yet to be announced internet TV streaming service. It appears though that the company is yet to clinch a deal with the country’s most watched TV network, CBS, and this could inevitably end up further delaying a possible launch of the TV streaming service.
Speaking to Bloomberg, CBS CEO Les Moonves revealed that Apple is having conversations with the TV industry for its own streaming service. “We’ve had those conversations,” Moonves says, pointing out that other networks have done the same and does believe that something will happen, just doesn’t know when.
Apple has a habit of not revealing what it’s working on, it is very likely that the company won’t say anything about this internet TV streaming service until its close to launch. However Moonves revealed that the two were having discussions even as far back as May, further fueling speculation that a new internet TV service from Apple is on the horizon.
With the new Apple TV set-top box nearing release with each passing day it would have made more sense to launch the internet TV streaming service with it, for now though Apple can spend its energies on making sure that a greater number of people purchase the new Apple TV before everything finally falls into place for the internet TV streaming service.
