blackberry-priv-official-1When it comes to mobile security and despite BlackBerry’s extremely low market share, many still associate such security with BlackBerry’s platform. In fact there are many high-profile figures and governments around the world that still relies on BlackBerry’s technology to help ensure their data does not get into the wrong hands.

BlackBerry themselves seem to be pretty proud of that fact and in a recent teaser for its upcoming BlackBerry Priv, the Canadian company has taken aim at Apple. “We At BlackBerry Are Happy To See Apple Is Now Taking Your Privacy Seriously. For The Last 20 Years BlackBerry Has Built Our Reputation By Creating The Most Secure Devices In The Market. That Is Why In Recognition Of Our Long History Of Valuing Our Customers’ Privacy We’ve Named Our Next Generation Secure Smartphone.”

That message was posted on BlackBerry’s website which seems to serve to highlight that the upcoming BlackBerry Priv will continue to feature BlackBerry’s trademark security, even though it will not be running on BlackBerry OS. For those unfamiliar, the upcoming Priv will be an Android-powered BlackBerry handset.

The company has promised that they will be officially launching the handset before the end of the year, but given that we have seen official videos and photos having been released, and now teaser website, we reckon we won’t have to wait much longer to learn about its availability.
