bb-passport-whiteThe BlackBerry Priv is the Canadian company’s upcoming Android smartphone. With BlackBerry choosing to launch an Android device, some are starting to look at it as the company potentially getting ready to abandon BB10, especially when they put out posts that describes how secure their take on Android is.

That being said, it seems like BlackBerry is trying to reassure developers and BB10 isn’t going anywhere. In a recent blog post, BlackBerry talks about some of the changes that they are making to the BB10 platform, and how they will continue to support and invest in the operating system moving forward.

According to BlackBerry, “We’re excited about the future of BlackBerry as our strategy unfolds.  The end-to-end BlackBerry environment offers the highest level of security for our enterprise customers and our commitment to BlackBerry 10 remains strong.  We’ll continue to invest in and evolve the platform.”

They also go on to state that their “commitment to our developer community is unwavering”, and while this might seem like it is more targeted towards developers, it is also a message to BB10 users who might still prefer the operating system over other alternatives. It is unclear as to what phones the company has up their sleeves after the Priv, but hopefully there will be something for BB10 fans.
