Microsoft’s virtual private assistant, Cortana, already has lots of useful features both on mobile and on Windows 10, making it much easier for users to get various tasks done by simply using voice commands. The company today announced a new integration between the assistant and LinkedIn, this enables Cortana to pull in LinkedIn contact information on Windows 10.
Those who are already using Windows 10 Mail and Calendar applications will be used to receiving meeting reminders from Cortana. These apps will now offer more rich information about the people they’re supposed to meet with because Cortana will pull in the required contact information from LinkedIn, provided that the user has connected their account to Cortana.
Connected accounts on Cortana will be able to pull in information about contacts like their photo, job role and company, a link to their full LinkedIn profile as well as the ability to connect on LinkedIn directly through Cortana meeting reminders. Once the account is linked the next reminder from Cortana about a meeting will contain all of this rich information about the participants.
The Cortana and LinkedIn integration is being rolled out today and will be available to anyone who’s using Cortana on Windows 10. Microsoft says that it looks forward to working with LinkedIn in order to bring more personal and productive experiences in the future.
