Samsung-Galaxy-S6-Edge-Plus-04Last week a company by the name of Synaptics announced new ClearForce/ClearPad technologies which basically introduces pressure sensitive displays to smartphones. It is also their answer to Apple’s 3D Touch feature and also gives other smartphones OEMs a way to include the feature in their products.

That being said we can’t be sure if this is a coincidence or if it’s just the taking advantage of the rumors, but according to a post by leaker I Ice Universe on Weibo (via PhoneArena), he claims that Samsung’s 2016 flagship the Galaxy S7 will feature the company’s ClearForce technology, ultimately giving the phone a pressure-sensitive display.

While we can’t verify those claims and it does seem rather opportune, we can’t say that we would be surprised if that was the case. Many praises have been sung about 3D Touch, and with Huawei leading the charge and technically beating Apple to the punch, we sure that many other smartphone OEMs will want to include the feature as well.

After all while some OEMs have tried to include fingerprint sensors in the past, it was only after Apple introduced Touch ID that we really saw an explosion in growth of fingerprint sensors on smartphones. Either way it should be best taken with a grain of salt for now, but would a pressure-sensitive display be something you might be interested in?
