Samsung-galaxy-Note-4-edge-02We have stated in the past that it was a little odd that the Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors had not suggested that we could be looking at a regular version and an “Edge” version, which is what Samsung did for the Galaxy S6. At most we heard there would be several variants, but those are only variants in chipsets and not design.

However according to a report from SamsungViet (via SamMobile), it seems that the reason why there might not be different Galaxy S7 designs is because the Galaxy S7 will be the curved phone by default. And oddly enough, it will only sport a single curved display, kind of like the Galaxy Note Edge from 2014.

This would no doubt be an interesting choice and we have to wonder how fans will react. If the reports are to be believed, the Galaxy S6 Edge is supposedly the more popular of the two phones launched earlier this year, so for Samsung to allegedly cut its curved display in half might upset some users.

This is just a rumor for now and it’s best taken with a grain of salt. However there are also other rumors suggesting that the Galaxy S7 could be launched in January 2016, meaning that we only have a couple of months to go to find out what’s really going on.
