Major networks are now seriously in the race for capturing cordcutters who would rather pay monthly for a network they’d like access to rather than pay for a conventional TV service. That’s what has prompted giants like HBO, Showtime and CBS to launch their own over-the-top internet TV streaming services, all of which are now available for your viewing pleasure on Android TV enabled set-top boxes and HDTVs.

Showtime, HBO Now and CBS All Access are now available on Android TV, users get access to most of the hottest shows this fall between these three networks. It’s certainly about time that these online TV streaming services arrived on Android TV.

Also available on Android TV is Disney Movies Anywhere allowing users to stream their favorite Disney movies on-demand. Epix arrives on Android TV as well and brings thousands of movies, comedy specials, concerts and much more.

More than 50 premium Android TV apps are already available for download, throw in WWE and UFC, and you’ve more or less got something for everyone, no matter how distinct their tastes might be.

It’s essential for a smart TV platform like Android TV to have support for a vast majority of content sources so as to bring in new customers as well as retain existing customers who might consider jumping to rival platforms particularly if there’s the promise of additional content. After all, who doesn’t like more content?
