There are some more modern cars that comes with a heads-up display. However if you don’t want to spend tens of thousands of dollars to buy a new car just for the heads-up display, how does the idea of spending $50 sound to you? If you are agreeable to those terms, then perhaps you might be interested in the HUDWAY Glass.

As you can see in the video above, the HUDWAY Glass is basically a smartphone mount with a twist, and the twist being that it gives pretty much any car a heads-up display. This means that if you’re driving some beat up old car 20 years old, you can still give it a bit of a hi-tech touch by putting in the HUDWAY Glass.

How it works is pretty simple. The glass is meant to reflect what’s being displayed on your smartphone’s screen. Due to its aspheric shape, it also means that it will enlarge it by as much as 20% so you will get a slightly bigger picture. Now in terms of apps that work for it, the HUDWAY Glass’s creators have recommended several apps that will work best with it.

However if you’d rather use an app you’re familiar with for navigation, you’re free to try out whatever you want and see if it will work nicely with the setup. We have to admit that the idea is pretty cool, so if you’d like to learn more or pledge your support, hit up its Kickstarter page for the details.
