lumia 950 xl batteryTomorrow Microsoft is expected to announce their new Lumia smartphones, the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL. So far a lot of photos, renders, and specs of the handsets have been leaked to date, but now a new photo shared by Steve Hemmerstoffer of Nowhereelse.fr and @OnLeaks fame, it clues us in more to the Lumia 950 XL.

According to the photo and his tweet, it seems that the upcoming Lumia 950 XL will feature a removable 3,340mAh battery. Removable batteries are a big deal to some. When you consider that usually after a year or two your battery starts to lose its charge, a removable battery allows users to swap in a new one.

This is as opposed to phones with fixed batteries (like the iPhone) where once your battery starts to lose its charge, it’s pretty much all downhill from there with users struggling to charge their phones as much as possible, and forced to carry battery packs or cases to keep their phones alive.

At this point we can’t be sure if the smaller Lumia 950 will feature a similar design or if the Lumia 950 is fixed. Either way we suppose we will find out in about a day’s time so remember to check back with us then for the details.
