Say you want to bring a mug of coffee from your home or Starbucks to work. For the most part people seem to drink their coffees pretty fast, but just in case you’re the type that’s too busy to drink or maybe you just want to savor it, putting it in a thermos flask ensures that it will remain relatively warm for a while.

However the flask cannot ensure that it will remain at an ideal temperature, which is where the Ember mug comes into play. The mug is currently on Indiegogo trying to raise funds to make it a reality, and what it does is that it helps to keep the drink inside of it at a constant temperature. This means that even a few hours later, it will remain as hot as it was when you put it in, or whatever temperature you have set for it.

This is thanks to space-grade thermal insulation and a microprocessor controlled heating system, all of which will work together to help maintain your drink at the temperature you determine. So if a drink is too hot, pop it into the Ember mug and it will notify you when it has reached the desired temperature.

It can also work together with your smartphone so that you can remotely adjust the temperature and switch between presets. We have to say that this is a pretty cool idea, not to mention the design of the mug itself is pretty sleek and appealing. If you’d like to pledge your support, hit up its Indiegogo page for the details.
