News_Republic_v5There are plenty of platforms one can choose from to read news and for the most part, a lot of them tends to be offered in English. Some offer more language support but not all do, so if English isn’t your main language and if you’d feel more comfortable reading news and updates in your native tongue, perhaps the latest News Republic update might be worth checking out.

The app has recently been updated to version 5.4 and in that update, the company claims that it will now support up to 29 different languages from countries across the world. This isn’t so much about translating existing topics, but rather curating topics in their native languages from various parts of the world.

Given how nuances get lost in translation, hopefully by offering articles in their native language will provide a more accurate way of reading it. According to the app’s developers, “With this latest version, News Republic provides users with news stories, photographs, and videos from more than 1,500 trusted global media sources in their own language, interchangeably, without needing to switch editions.”

News Republic’s CEO, Gilles Raymond adds, “Most of the world lives multilingually. We believe news should too. We have noticed from our users’ interactions, together with wider market data, that there are a large number of immigrants and people working and living abroad. This new update to the app allows for people all over the world to stay in touch with the news they feel matters most.”

The latest update to News Republic can be found via the iTunes App Store or Google Play.
