ClubNintendoCharactersBy now most gamers probably know that Nintendo has finally caved in and agreed to start making games for smartphones. The first title is expected to be released by the end of the year, but the question is when? According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, it seems that we might know as early as this week.

The report cites analysts who point out that details of the game should be revealed this week. Why this week, you ask? Turns out that this coming Wednesday there will be an earnings call and on Thursday, Nintendo is expected to update their investors on their strategy, meaning that either day would be perfect for Nintendo to announce details of the game.

As for its release, we suppose that’s anyone’s guess but it is possible that it could be both announced and released on the same day, although we will have to wait and see if that actually happens. Also given the partnership with DeNA, another Japanese company, we’re not sure if it will see a Japan release first before it is localized for the rest of the world, or if it has been designed for international audiences with mind already.

Either way if you are looking forward to enjoying Nintendo games on your smartphone, remember to check back with us later this week for the details.
