While most of us have probably flown in airplanes before, for the most part it’s safe to say that those planes are of the commercial variety. Or maybe in some cases you might end up in those smaller propeller-type planes. It is also safe to say that many of us have probably never flown in a fighter jet, but over in Russia you can.

It seems that over in Russia, if you have enough money, you can actually rent an MiG-29 airplane. Such a war would normally be used for war, but it seems that if you have $18,000 to spare, you could rent one just for the fun of it. The ride will take up into the earth’s stratosphere which takes about roughly 50 minutes.

The plane will be flying at supersonic speeds and hitting up to 9Gs, thus allowing you to experience some degree of weightlessness for a few seconds. It sounds a bit unbelievable but given that it costs a whopping $18,000, we can only assume that your average Joe will probably not be one of the customers.

If you’d like to find out more, or maybe even rent one for yourself, head on over to the company’s website for the details. In the meantime the folks at Sploid have put together a video showing you what it is like, although it probably won’t exactly be quite the same.
