Late last year Microsoft released the Skype Translator preview application, it allowed users to get real time translation in multiple languages. Since then hundreds of thousands of people have used the preview app and provided Microsoft with valuable feedback. Now the company has started to roll out Skype Translator to millions of people across the globe by integrating it into the main Skype for Windows app.

Skype Translator gets support for six voice languages, English, French, German, Italian, Mandarin and Spanish whereas 50 messages languages are also supported for text-based translation.

Microsoft is satisfied enough with the progress it has made with Skype Translator preview that it feels the time is right to integrate this feature into the main app.

Those who have already used the app will be quite accustomed to it by now, Microsoft has also published a short video which details how anyone with a Windows PC, Windows-powered laptop or a Surface tablet can easily use the Skype Translator feature.

The feature is being integrated into the Skype for Windows desktop application, the updated app will be rolled out globally over the next couple of weeks. Users will notice new Skype Translator icons inside the updated app, this will let them know that the feature is there and ready to be used.
