twitter momentsIf you are new to Twitter, we reckon it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. There are tweets, there are retweets, and then there are Twitter conversations going on that it’s hard to keep track of who said what and when, and to be lost in the flood of news. However it looks like Twitter wants to make your life easier and has since announced a new feature called Moments.

This is a feature designed for mobile apps and according to Twitter, “Moments helps you find the best of Twitter as easily as tapping an icon – regardless of who you follow. Just visit the new tab called Moments, where you will discover stories unfolding on Twitter.” If this sounds familiar, it is because earlier today Reddit announced Upvoted, a separate website which curates the best of Reddit, so in a way you could think of Moments as the Twitter version of it.

Moments will make it easier for you to check out the hottest and trending tweets and stories. It will include a steady stream of text, photos, videos, and audio, all of which are picked and chosen by actual human curators instead of simply relying on algorithms, similar to how Apple Music works.

There will a group of publications that will be part of Moments at the start including Bleacher Report, Buzzfeed, Entertainment Weekly, Fox News, Getty Images, Mashable, MLB, NASA, New York Times, Vogue and the Washington Post. For now, Moments will only be available to those in the US, but Twitter expects that they will roll out the feature to other users and countries in the future.
