adduplex-oct-OS-versionsIt is no secret that as far as mobile operating systems are concerned, both iOS and Android are currently the most dominant platforms. Both systems take up a huge chunk of the pie leaving only slivers to the likes of Tizen, BlackBerry OS, and Windows Phone, just to name a few. So the question is with the new Windows 10 Mobile, will Microsoft finally have a shot at a bigger slice of the pie?

According to recent figures revealed by AdDuplex (via Windows Central), adoption of Windows 10 Mobile appears to be coming along just fine. Granted the operating system has yet to be released so these numbers are based on the preview version, which we suppose is still pretty encouraging and hopefully a sign of what’s to come when it is officially released.

According to AdDuplex, they found that Windows 10 Mobile has already been installed on 5.7% of Windows Phone devices that they have tracked. That in by itself has surpassed Windows Phone 7.x and is slowly catching up to Windows Phone 8.0 which is at 9.4%. The most common version is Windows Phone 8.1 which is sitting at a whopping 79.3% as far as the Windows Phone ecosystem is concerned.

Granted it still has quite a long way to go, but it is pretty encouraging because for one it has not been released to the masses, and secondly to achieve 5.7% in a short amount of time is impressive, so hopefully when it is officially rolled out we will see a higher rate of adoption amongst users.
