It is all very likely that a spanking new Xiaomi handset would hit the market as early as next Monday, which would be the 19th of October, although there is also a very real chance that this would only fall under the “product announcement” category, and not a real product launched and made available. Still, we will have to wait and see, as Xiaomi has already started to send out press invites for an event that is set to happen next Monday. As for the possible smartphone release, just what do you think it will be? Many have begun to speculate that it might very well be the Xiaomi Mi 5, although that can be rather difficult to ascertain.
Why the Xiaomi Mi 5 in the first place? For starters, it has been the whole focus of a variety of rumors for quite some time already, not to mention leaks in the past, which do point to a possible launch in November or in December, although there has been no indication whatsoever that an October launch is also not imminent. Still, if the Xiaomi Mi 5 does get unveiled next Monday, it is highly likely that the device will not run on the Snapdragon 820 SoC since the first batch of devices that will feature this chipset are tipped to arrive in December at the earliest. Perhaps it is the MiPad 2 instead that will be revealed next Monday. Let’s keep our ears tuned and eyes peeled.
