nubia-z9-eliteZTE has quietly gone about introducing a slight update for the Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini, two handsets that have been released since April earlier this year. It looks like all that it takes is just half a year before ZTE figured out that an upgrade is due to happen, which is why this hardware refresh saw just slight amendments to both handsets, without introducing too much change to the overall design or majority of the hardware specifications underneath the hood. At the end of it all, the two devices that have been refreshed will be known as the ZTE Nubia Z9 Max Elite Edition and the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini Elite Edition.

Both smartphones have already leaked out in China, courtesy of promotional flyers where both handsets are concerned. The ZTE Nubia Z9 Max Elite will be on the receiving end of a fingerprint sensor this time around, which will be part of the side-mounted power button. Apart from that, it has also picked up a USB Type-C port along the way, which will see it keep up with the rest of the prevailing trend. Apart from that, everything else remains the same as its predecessor.

As for the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini Elite, this model will feature 3GB of RAM, which is 1GB of RAM more than its predecessor. There will also be eye pattern recognition, alongside some new software features. Everything else would remain the same. We do expect to see the two devices hit China in due time, although it might be more difficult trying to source either from outside of China.
