Not too long ago Apple unveiled the brand new Apple TV, the new set-top box is a big improvement over its predecessor with some new features that have never before been available on the company’s only TV offering. The new Apple TV also removed some features that had already been present, Podcasts being one of them, but it appears that the official Apple Podcasts app might soon arrive on the new Apple TV.

The third-generation Apple TV came with an official Podcasts app installed right out of the box, it allowed users to sync with their iTunes subscriptions on iOS and desktop, enabling them to follow up on the podcasts no matter which Apple device they were using.

However the Podcasts app was missing from the new Apple TV at least at launch, but 9to5mac has received a screenshot which hints that the official app may arrive on the set-top box in the near future. The screenshot has been taken from a video loop that Apple is playing in its retail stores to demo the new Apple TV.

It might have been that the app wasn’t ready for public when the Apple TV was first announced which is why the company decided against showing it when it unveiled the product, since then it had ample time on its hands to get it ready and eventually release it for the fourth-generation Apple TV.

Apple has not yet confirmed when the official Podcasts app will arrive on its new set-top box.
