Asus-Zenfone-6-20

It has been a month since Google released Android 6.0 Marshmallow but if you don’t own a Nexus device you are most likely running Lollipop right now because major OEMs have yet to release Marshmallow for most devices. While they are not exactly confirming release dates, some OEMs have confirmed the devices that will receive said update, and today ASUS has joined that list.

The company revealed through its official forums that it’s going to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Asus PadFone S, ZenFone 2, ZenFone 3 Deluxe/Special Edition, ZenFone 2 Laser and the ZenFone Selfie.

However it did not confirm when these handsets will get the much awaited update that not only brings several user interface improvements but also a handful of new features that we’ve already seen Nexus users enjoy on their devices since they were the first to get Android 6.0.

It’s unclear if Asus plans on supporting any additional models other than the ones it has already confirmed, the company has only said right now that it’s planning to support the aforementioned models, without ruling out the possibility that others could be added to the list at some point down the road.

If you happen to own any of the devices listed above you can now start counting down the days until Marshmallow is eventually released.
