karalux-priv-1I am quite sure that many of us have heard of the name Karalux before, a company that has set up its base of operations over in Vietnam. After all, Karalux has churned out its fair share of gold-plated products – we’re not talking about a coat of gold paint, but real gold here, folks, such as the iPad Air 2 and the Apple Watch that has received the Midas, nay, Karalux touch. It looks like the Android-powered BlackBerry Priv is about to get a similar treatment this time around, with the Karalux inspired BlackBerry Priv to go on sale later this December 5th.

Apparently, the BlackBerry Priv does have its fair share of challenges when it comes to bringing out the Karalux identity at the end of the process, as Karalux shared, “Unlike the previous generations, it is a little bit more difficult to disassemble BlackBerry Priv.Karalux engineers took nearly 2 hours to ‘operate’ its details, and spent 4 more hours with more than 10 different procedures to complete the first gold-plated BlackBerry Priv in Vietnam.”

The asking price is not going to come too cheap at all – after all it is real gold that we are talking about here, where the device can be gold plated for $355 thereabouts, whereas having the handset as well as gold-plating will hit the $1,111 mark after conversion. Those who reside outside of Vietnam will have to fork out approximately $1,350 for each of these puppies. [Press Release]
